After losing to the Tapestry Charter Titans the last time they met, the Cottage Cougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Cottage came out on top against Tapestry Charter by a score of 39-27 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Cottage's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Tapestry Charter is ranked 170th).
Cottage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Barnes, who scored 8 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Jack Kane was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
The victory got Cottage back to even at 5-5. As for Tapestry Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Cottage will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tapestry Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Howard at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
