The Choctaw County Chargers entered their tilt with the McAdams Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Choctaw County came out on top against McAdams by a score of 67-59 on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Choctaw County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Cunningham, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Cunningham has scored at least 25% of Choctaw County's points. Another player making a difference was Garrick Alston, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Choctaw County pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for McAdams, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Choctaw County will take on Mooreville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooreville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Choctaw County is ranked 98th). As for McAdams, they will be playing at home against Velma Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Velma Jackson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
