Alissa Snipes made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Pleasant Valley let Carisma Ta'Amai and Lily Thurman run wild. Ta'Amai went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Thurman fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Ta'Amai has posted since back in March.
Pleasant Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Enterprise came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Redding Christian 14-2 on Friday.
Maya Hubbs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hubbs was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Carly Graham and Sadie Ross did most of the damage at the plate: Graham went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ross went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Emma Souza was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Pleasant Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Enterprise, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-10.
Enterprise's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Pleasant Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Enterprise, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Pleasant Valley keep running through batters, or will the Hornets buck the trend?
Pleasant Valley took their win against Enterprise in their previous matchup on April 7th by a conclusive 14-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
