Fletch Kelsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kelsey was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Lewis County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Brayden Whitlow was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Steele Moseley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Summertown had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Raiders.
Jon-Kolbi Stanley looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matches.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cason Blackwood, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Ryder Blackwood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Lewis County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Summertown, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.
Lewis County couldn't quite finish off Summertown in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
