There's no place like home for the Mountain View Bruins, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Payson on Tuesday and snuck past 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Mella, who scored 19 points. Mella is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Simeon Suguturaga, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Payson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Provo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Provo will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Mountain View surely won't give up without a fight. As for Payson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Payson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 318 points over their last five matches.
