Westview hasn't had much luck against Jimtown recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Jimmies at 5:00 p.m. Westview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Westview proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Prairie Heights 9-8.
Janissa Lehman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Briana Kaufman was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Rich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
Meanwhile, Jimtown entered their tilt with Glenn on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.
Not much got past Kiyla Eberhart, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Glenn off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Skyler Pello, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Westview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Jimtown, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Jimtown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. It's a different story for Jimtown, though, as they've only averaged .350. Will they be able to contain Westview's hitters?
Westview might still be hurting after the 15-6 defeat they got from Jimtown when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
