Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Liberal Bulldogs walked away with it. They took down College Heights Christian 44-28 on Friday. The win was just what Liberal needed coming off of a 72-0 loss in their prior game.
Quincy Bazal had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 62 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 82 receiving yards. Nolan Shaw and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Liberal's victory.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Liberal's defense and their 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Isaac Edwards and his two sacks.
Liberal's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for College Heights Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Liberal will take on Lockwood at TBD on Friday. Lockwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 541 points over their last nine matches. College Heights Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
