Basketball Recap: Greenbrier Wins Going Away Against South Aiken

Greenbrier won the last time they faced South Aiken and things went their way on Friday too. The Greenbrier Wolfpack were the clear victor by a 68-46 margin over the South Aiken Thoroughbreds. The Wolfpack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Greenbrier had a senior duo take command as Jackson Farlow went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and Martez Ford posted 16 points. The matchup was Ford's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Garstang, who had nine points.

Despite the defeat, South Aiken saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deon Simpkins put up 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Simpkins a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Akeem Jean, who posted seven points.

The victory made it two in a row for Greenbrier and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for South Aiken, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Greenbrier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-56 win against Fox Creek on the 21st. As for South Aiken, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 81-73 loss against Burke County on the 21st.
