After nine games on the road, First Baptist is heading back home. They will take on the South Metro HomeSchool Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though First Baptist has not done well against the recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. First Baptist slipped by the 54-53.
First Baptist can attribute much of their success to Keira Wynja, who scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds, and Lydia Wynja, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wynja has scored all season. Maya McKinney was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, South Metro HomeSchool had to kick off their season on the road back in January, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past First Baptist 41-39.
First Baptist pushed their record up to 18-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for South Metro HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
First Baptist couldn't quite finish off the Huskies in their previous meeting back in January and fell 41-39. Can First Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
