Mayde Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They came up short against  the Katy Tigers, falling  3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-0  back in September.
 Mayde Creek was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the  first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20,  25-21.
 Isabella Gomez paced Mayde Creek's offense, picking up eight kills. Gomez got some help from  Autumn Wimberely and her 14 assists.  Alexandrea Dorman controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
 Katy can attribute much of their success to  Ashlyn Dodd, who  had 12  assists and seven  digs. Dodd is  on a roll when it comes to  assists, as she's  now  posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's  played.  Kaitlin Waak also deserves some recognition as  she  served her first  ace of the season.
Mayde Creek's loss dropped their record down to 15-24. As for Katy, they moved to 11-21 with that  victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.
As of now, neither Mayde Creek nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
