After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three game, The Valor South Austin Falcons finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were beaten by Gloria Deo Academy 51-6. Valor South Austin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-6.
Nolan Chandler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gloria Deo Academy, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also picking up 76 receiving yards. Chandler's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards. Caleb Ross was another key contributor, throwing for 146 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Valor South Austin's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Gloria Deo Academy, their win was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Valor South Austin will look to defend their home field on Friday against NYOS Charter at 7:00 p.m. As for Gloria Deo Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Sunnybrook Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnybrook Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Gloria Deo Academy likes a good challenge.
