Basketball Recap: Culver Academies Piles Up the Points Against Michigan City

Culver Academies won the last time they faced Michigan City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Culver Academies Eagles breezed by the Michigan City Wolves to the tune of 62-33. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Culver Academies to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jimara Combs, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Combs has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Herron, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 18 points and six assists.

Culver Academies was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan City only posted four assists.

Culver Academies has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Michigan City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Culver Academies wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-17 victory against Jimtown on the 24th. Michigan City has also already played their next matchup, a 58-44 win against La Porte on the 24th.
