Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Collinsville Pirates, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against the Lions on Thursday, falling 52-14. Collinsville's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Although Collinsville took the loss, they still got scores from Rylan Newman and Landon Carpenter.
Adam Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Albany, rushing for 223 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 31 receiving yards. Hill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Chip Chambers was another key contributor, throwing for 258 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Albany, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Albany will be playing at home against Sunray at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunray is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
