The Boerne-Champion Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Lehman Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Boerne-Champion is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lehman in Texas (Boerne-Champion is ranked 232nd, while Lehman is ranked 681st).
Last Friday, Boerne-Champion took a serious blow against Smithson Valley, falling 49-14. It was the first time this season that Boerne-Champion let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Lehman never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat MacArthur 42-0 on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Lehman's zero-point performance the matchup before.
Lehman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collin Richardson, who threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns. Isaiah Hernandez and his 103 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Lehman's win.
Smithson Valley's win bumped their season record to 7-1 while Boerne-Champion's defeat dropped theirs to 6-2.
Everything went Boerne-Champion's way against Lehman in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Boerne-Champion made off with a 37-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boerne-Champion since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
