The Westbury Huskies will square off against the Waltrip Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Westbury sitting on three straight victories and Waltrip on five.
While Westbury's win against Spring Woods wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 25-22.

Jefferson Rivas Hernandez had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Those 149 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Westbury was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
Westbury didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Derrick Jones and Torian Brown.
Meanwhile, Waltrip earned a 44-37 win over Galena Park on Friday.
Waltrip's win came from a few key players Westbury will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was James 'Jimmy' Haren, who threw for 190 yards and four TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Waltrip's leading receiver Lil Eric Norris was Haren's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Waltrip's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Westbury, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Westbury has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Waltrip struggles in that department as they've been averaging 165.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Westbury didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Waltrip in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with an 18-14 victory. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
