The Bellevue Redmen won the last time they faced the Clyde Fliers, and things went their way on Monday too. Bellevue walked away with a 56-45 win over Clyde. Given Bellevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Clyde is ranked 556th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clyde's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brayden Olson, who scored 23 points, and Cedric Messer who scored 13 points. That was a full 51.1% of Clyde's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Clyde struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bellevue has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Clyde, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Willard the next time they take the court. Clyde will host Willard at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Bellevue will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
