Providence has gone 8-2 against Chadwick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pioneers will welcome the Dolphins at 3:15 p.m. Providence is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
Providence had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Polytechnic on Thursday. The Pioneers blew past the Panthers 18-5. Considering the Pioneers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Madelynn Watts made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.

In other batting news, Providence got a massive performance out of Delailah Lopez, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Lopez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gloria Galindo, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Chadwick had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Westridge 5-3.
Like Providence, Chadwick also got a great game from a two-way player: Sammy Santa Ana. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Santa Ana was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Santa Ana wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Stanley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was Stanley's first of the season.
Chadwick's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Providence, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Everything went Providence's way against Chadwick in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Providence made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dolphins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
