The South Haven Cardinals pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Oxford 65-59. While losing is never fun, South Haven can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Oxford is ranked 100th).
Oxford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kellen Green, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Green hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cordell Jordan, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
South Haven has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Oxford, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
South Haven will head out on the road to take on West Elk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oxford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cedar Vale/Dexter at 7:30 p.m.
