Truman has gone 9-1 against Raytown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Patriots will host the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Truman's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Raytown has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Truman will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Platte County, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Patriots came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 6-3 on Monday.
Hayden Rogers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rogers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Cade Pleacher looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Reinhardt, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. McLane Graffeo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Raytown came up short against Chrisman on Monday, falling 14-4.
Raytown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Terryberry, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was William Buckman, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Truman has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Raytown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Everything went Truman's way against Raytown in their previous meeting back in March, as Truman made off with a 14-4 victory. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Bluejays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
