Eliza Everett was her usual excellent self, putting up eight points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Hauser, who posted six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Concord Academy over Gaston Day in every quarter on their way to victory last Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Concord Academy blew Gaston Day out of the water with a 69-5 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matchups by 28 points or more this season.
Concord Academy's win came from a few key players St. David's will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justice Alexander, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 21 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Smith, who put up seven points in addition to ten steals and eight assists.
Concord Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.
Concord Academy pushed their record up to 24-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 54.4 points. As for St. David's, their record now sits at 18-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: St. David's has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27 boards per game. However, it's not like Concord Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
St. David's ended up a good deal behind Concord Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, losing 58-42. Can St. David's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
