The Rye Thunderbolts''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past Rocky Ford with a 42-36 win. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Rye's six-point performance the contest before.
Rye got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Hurne out in front who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Josh George did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 105 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Rocky Ford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Gallegos. Despite the final result, he rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 145 yards and a touchdown. Gallegos was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.
Rye's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Rocky Ford, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
