The David City Scouts won the last time they faced the Thayer Central Titans, and things went their way on Saturday too. David City managed a 49-44 victory over Thayer Central.
Reese Svoboda had a dynamite game for David City, scoring 19 points along with three steals. Clayton Zavodny was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Despite the loss, Thayer Central still got an impressive performance from Sam Souerdyke, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. That was a full 40.9% of Thayer Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Heitmann, who scored 11 points.
David City has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Thayer Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. David City will take on Cross County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Thayer Central, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Superior. Superior is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
