Volleyball Recap: Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights on Wednesday as Valley made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Valley was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Mater Academy East Las Vegas still got an impressive performance from Malcolm Lawrence, who had 12 digs and two blocks. That's the most blocks Lawrence has posted over his last six matchups.

Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Valley and Virgin Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Virgin Valley will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they will square off against The Meadows School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
