 Long Beach Poly's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged four passes before it was all said and done.  Aaya Mclyn led the group effort, picking up two of those  interceptions all by herself.  Nefertiera Williams has been hot recently, having also posted  at least one  defended passe the last five times she's  played.
 Meanwhile, Compton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  on Monday as they fell  18-13 to Cabrillo. The Tarbabes have now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Long Beach Poly's victory was  their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 9-7. As for Compton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
 Everything came up roses for Long Beach Poly against Compton in their previous matchup  back in August as the  squad secured  a  36-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Long Beach Poly since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
