The Broome Centurions won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Woodruff on the road and fell 74-37. Broome was down 57-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Broome's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamajay Brackett-Brannon, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Levi Bishop was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Broome's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Woodruff, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broome will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Woodruff, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Union County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
