The Oak Hill Golden Eagles were the 75-41 winner over the Eastern Comets when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Oak Hill fell just short of Eastern by a score of 69-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Oak Hill lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ty Fagan, who scored 17 points along with five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Jace Tonagel was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists.
Oak Hill has fallen quite a ways from their 20-3 record last season and are now at 4-7. As for Eastern, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Oak Hill will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Southwood at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Southwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. Eastern and Delphi Community will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
