Peak to Peak is 0-10 against Kent Denver since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Peak to Peak Pumas will square off against the Kent Denver Sun Devils at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Peak to Peak comes in on eight and Kent Denver on six.
Last Thursday, Peak to Peak got the win against Eagle Ridge Academy by a conclusive 68-48. Given the Pumas' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Warriors are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Peak to Peak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tysen Burton, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and six boards. Burton's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Elijah Eschmeyer was another key player, putting up 15 points and three blocks.
Burton wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Peak to Peak was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Kent Denver on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Platte Canyon out of the water with a 107-32 final score. The Sun Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 28 points or more this season.
Peak to Peak better keep an eye on Elvis Lloyd. He was instrumental in Kent Denver's win, going 7-for-10 to rack up 22 points and five steals. Lloyd is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Fay, who went 6-for-7 en route to 13 points and five assists.
Kent Denver pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 94.2 points over those games. As for Peak to Peak, their record now sits at 18-1.
Peak to Peak ended up a good deal behind Kent Denver in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 77-63. Can Peak to Peak avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
