It was a proper cat-fight when Columbia Academy challenged Bay on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 70-47 margin over the Tigers. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 12, 2024 (when they won 80-35).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Dunklin, who posted 14 points. Dunklin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Meranto, who put up 13 points.
The win got Columbia Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Bay, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Columbia Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Christian Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. The Bulldogs have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bay, they have already played their next contest, a 59-42 loss against Quitman on the 5th.
