The Montour Spartans had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Blackhawk 45-13 on the road. The result was nothing new for Montour, who have now won four matches by 32 points or more so far this season.
Montour got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Wolfe out in front who threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Caden Halajcio was in the mix too, providing Montour with three touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Blackhawk still got an impressive performance from Maurice Watson-Trent, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Watson-Trent's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Montour's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Blackhawk, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Montour will be playing at home against Blackhawk at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Blackhawk is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for they, they will head out on the road to face off against Montour at 1:45 p.m. Hopefully Montour is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blackhawk in Pennsylvania (Montour is ranked 37th, while Blackhawk is ranked 373rd).
