The biggest upset of the week belonged to Willows, who took down 682nd ranked Trinity, 16-15. Geoffrey Bateman ran for 141 yards in the win.
The Honkers moved up to 683 from 734 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sacramento Valley. Willows was able to make move up by defeating the Wolves 16-15.
Durham's dynamic duo of Brycen Buck and Zach Marks proved tough for Mt. Shasta to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Buck threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns and Marks had 158 yards receiving. Luke Mullarkey helped Durham's passing attack out by catching six balls for 56 yards.
Romario Acosta provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Live Oak fell to Pierce. He completed 17 passes for 218 yards and also ran for 23 yards. Acosta's favorite target this week was Tyler Raymond, who caught seven passes for 105 yards.
On the ground, Trinity's Cory Cook has rushed for 1141 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Marks. The Durham star has 22 catches for 542 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Pierce takes on second place Willows. The Bears topped the Lions last week, while Jim Ward's team beat Jeremy Wardrip's team.
Pierce's Andy Corona needs only 82 yards against the Honkers next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 169 carries Corona has accumulated 918 yard this year.
Scott Burnum's team extended the longest winning streak in Sacramento Valley this week by beating Live Oak, 14-7. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Bears.
