Durham Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jordan Falcons. One positive for the Cavaliers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Amare Burrus was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jeremiah Gibbs also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Durham Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jordan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Durham Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ravenscroft at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Jordan, they will square off against Leesville Road at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
