For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 64-34 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.
Kit Carson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Junior Farmer out in front who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Irwin, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rhett McDonald, who posted 22 points. McDonald's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Grant Mauch was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 11 boards and seven assists.
Kit Carson's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4. As for Wiley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kit Carson has already played their next contest (against Hi-Plains), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
