The Lago Vista Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 59-31 loss at the hands of Burnet. Lago Vista has not had much luck with Burnet recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Lago Vista's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saylor Stamos, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Stamos hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Kinslow, who scored eight points.
Lago Vista's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-17. As for Burnet, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-7.
Lago Vista will be playing in front of their home fans against Lampasas at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Lampasas is ranked 878th, while Lago Vista is ranked 864th). As for Burnet, they will head out on the road to square off against Marble Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Marble Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Tuesday.
