Holly has gone 9-1 against Cheyenne Wells recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Holly will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
It was a proper cat-fight when Holly took on Granada on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Truman King made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). Holly is 5-1 when King allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise. King was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Holly got a massive performance out of Drayden Williams, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jerry Holdren, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Holly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cheyenne Wells, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Wiley on Tuesday.
Like Holly, Cheyenne Wells also got a great game from a two-way player: Marcus Bogenhagen. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Bogenhagen has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Ethen Garay was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Trey Scheler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3.
Holly pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cheyenne Wells, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holly hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Cheyenne Wells struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Holly's way against Cheyenne Wells in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Holly made off with a 9-1 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
