Basketball Recap: Desert Hot Springs' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Desert Hot Springs came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Banning Broncos with a sharp 65-39 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.

Leading Desert Hot Springs to victory were Tyron Grays and Jaymere Broach. Grays dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 boards, while Broach almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, Broach is now averaging an impressive 9.3 rebounds per game. Jaire Broach also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Desert Hot Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamari Horsman, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Junior Dunahoo, who had ten points.

Desert Hot Springs is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Banning, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.
