The Hancock Panthers's 25-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Faith Christian Academy by a score of 39-30. Hancock's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Skylar Smith was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 19 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points.
Hancock's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-11. As for Faith Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock will face off against Forbes Road at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Faith Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shalom Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Shalom Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Tuesday.
