Baseball Recap: Thayer Extends Winning Streak to Three

Thayer hadn't done well against Mountain Grove recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Panthers. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won three contests in a row.

Devin Harrington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Harrington was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Thayer is undefeated when Harrington posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Harrington wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Easton Pitts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Pitts has become a key player for Thayer: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Kaleb Tipton was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Thayer now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mountain Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Thayer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-7 loss against Willow Springs on the 14th. As for Mountain Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Conway on the 11th.
