It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Live Oak ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Wednesday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Dunham Tigers  8-7. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Live Oak.
 The team  relied heavily on  Cooper Smith, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mac Beadle, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  RBI.
 On Dunham's side,  Logan Sorrel was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  5.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Drew Bourgeois was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Easton Romano, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-5.
 Live Oak is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record  this season. As for Dunham, they dropped their record down to 11-8 with that  loss, which was their sixth straight  on the road.
 Live Oak will be playing at home against Central at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Central will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last. As for Dunham, they will head out on the road to  challenge  St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
