After two games on the road, Saint Stephen's Episcopal is heading back home. They will take on The Boca Raton Christian Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Saint Stephen's Episcopal got the win against Oasis by a conclusive 29-7.
It was another big night for Evan Brown, who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 154 yards and a touchdown. Brown hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Oasis to a paltry 176 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Saint Stephen's Episcopal's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Oasis' QB won't forget Austin Varga anytime soon given Varga sacked him seven times.
Meanwhile, Boca Raton Christian humbled Jordan Christian Prep with a 56-26 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Boca Raton Christian.
Boca Raton Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Joey Weber, who threw for 265 yards and five touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and Christian Anderson, who picked up 210 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Anderson's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wall, who picked up 40 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Boca Raton Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Saint Stephen's Episcopal against Boca Raton Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2015 as the team secured a 35-0 victory. Will Saint Stephen's Episcopal repeat their success, or does Boca Raton Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
