The Fort Meade Miners will venture away from home to square off against the Osceola Kowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Meade knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Osceola likes a good challenge.
If Fort Meade beats Osceola with 11 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Fort Meade beat Lake Gibson on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Gracie Taylor looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marleigh Carroll and Makayla Deleon did most of the damage at the plate: Carroll went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Deleon scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Deleon is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Ryleigh Grace also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Osceola came up short against Cornerstone Charter Academy on Wednesday and fell 9-4. The Kowboys haven't had much luck with the Ducks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Keyanna Stanley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. Tenley Dawson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Fort Meade's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Meade has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Osceola struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fort Meade couldn't quite get it done against Osceola in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 as they fell 5-0. Can Fort Meade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
