Softball Recap: Sylvania Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Sylvania, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Coosa Christian Conquerors 9-2 on Monday. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Braelyn Hastings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Molly Weaver, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

Sylvania pushed their record up to 9-16 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Coosa Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Looking ahead, Sylvania will challenge Asbury at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coosa Christian, they will take on Valley Head at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
