The Grace Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grace Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 759 points over their last ten contests.
Even though South Wake scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, Grace Christian still came out on top. Grace Christian took their match against the Sabres 75-67.
Grace Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ma'Kyi Butler, who scored 22 points. Butler is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 21 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Zimmerman, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mount Zion Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past New Life Christian Academy with a 66-62 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Grace Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Mount Zion Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
Grace Christian might still be hurting after the 63-42 defeat they got from the Mighty Warriors in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Grace Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
