Baseball Recap: Oxford Gets the Win

While Oxford's victory against Caledonia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Cavaliers 2-1 on Thursday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Cade Ferguson looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on James Blackwood, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Oxford's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Caledonia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Oxford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-0 win against Horn Lake on the 11th. As for Caledonia, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Kosciusko on the 11th.
