Meanwhile, Forrest entered their tilt with Community on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged out the Vikings/Viqueens 4-2.
Like Shelbyville Central, Forrest also got a great game from a two-way player: Luke Allen. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Allen was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Branham Haynes was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Shelbyville Central's record is now 20-5. As for Forrest, their record now sits at 17-8.
Shelbyville Central skirted past Forrest 4-3 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
