Basketball Recap: South Broward Comes Up Short

If South Broward was feeling good fresh off their 43-4 takedown of Hallandale on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the McArthur Mustangs on Wednesday, falling 50-25. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, South Broward still got an impressive performance from Kalia Adams, who dropped a triple-double with 12 points, ten rebounds, and 20 blocks. Adams is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Moriah McCandies was another key player, putting up six points.

McArthur got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nylah Lewis out in front who posted 12 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dianna Bencomo, who went 5-for-7 en route to 12 points.

South Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McArthur, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

South Broward wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-21 victory against Flanagan on the 20th. As for McArthur, they have also already played their next matchup, a 73-34 loss against Nova on the 20th.
