Brewer is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Granbury is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bears will host the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Brewer not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st. They put the hurt on Saginaw with a sharp 10-3 win.
Jesse Orozco was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Orozco was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Squires, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Troy Griffin was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, while Granbury put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Azle. The Pirates blew past the Hornets 12-0. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Like Brewer, Granbury also got a great game from a two-way player: Levi Martinez. Throwing, Martinez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Easton Bleeker didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Martinez scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Bleeker went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Granbury got a massive performance out of Hudson Hamilton, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Blake Bramlett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Granbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Azle only posted an OBP of .190.
Brewer's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Granbury, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Brewer came out on top in a nail-biter against Granbury in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
