LKY extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Monty Edwards. The LKY Saints took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 77-39 win over River City Jaguars which was due in part to Edwards, who to rack up 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played.
Another player making a difference was Paul Johnson, who posted 12 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the most assists he has posted since back in March of 2024.
Despite the loss, River City Jaguars saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joseph Johnson en route to 15 points and six boards. Johnson also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 75%. Noah Conrades also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.
LKY's victory bumped their record up to 11-21. As for River City Jaguars, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.
Coming up, LKY will take on Oak Forest in a tournament on March 4th. LKY knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Oak Forest likes a good challenge. As for River City Jaguars, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Indiana School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
