The Christ School Greenies won the last time they faced the Asheville Christian Academy Lions, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Christ School snuck past Asheville Christian Academy with a 58-52 win. Given Christ School's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Asheville Christian Academy is ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamari Briggs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Collins, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Christ School's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ School will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Carolina Day at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
