Midd-West put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Newport Buffaloes an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Midd-West's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jayda Dunn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. Those three hits gave Dunn a new career-high. Another was Katie Zimmerman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Midd-West hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
