Miller is on a six-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Bishop Rosecrans a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Miller Falcons will be home for the holidays to greet the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Miller came up short against Wellington School and fell 46-37. While losing is never fun, Miller can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 696th, while Wellington School is ranked 167th).
Miller's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alivea Lunning, who scored 11 points, and Heather West who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 40-8, which was the final score in Bishop Rosecrans' tilt against Wellington School on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bishop Rosecrans has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Maddie Bernett and
Abby Sagan, who each put up three points.
Miller's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Miller took a serious blow against Bishop Rosecrans in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-16. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Miller was down 25-4.
